Which bait is best for carp?

There is no single best bait. Boilies are the basis for most sessions, because they are nutritious and small fish leave them alone. Match the flavour and the amount to the season and the water: fruity and light in cold water, richer and more nutritious in summer.

How much bait should I feed?

That depends on the water temperature, the fish stock and how long you fish. In cold water a carp eats little; a handful of bait can be enough. In summer you can be more generous. Start carefully and top up as soon as you get action.

What is the difference between feed bait and hookbait?

Feed bait is what you feed on the swim, such as boilies, pellets and particles. Hookbait is the bait on your rig. That may well stand out: many anglers choose a pop-up or wafter in the same flavour as their feed, or in a contrasting colour.

Can I combine different types of bait?

Yes, a mix works particularly well. Boilies, pellets and particles together give variety in size and dissolve time, keeping carp searching your baited area for longer.
