What are pellets?
Pellets are compressed feed that slowly breaks down in the water. They release scent and flavour straight away and so build an attractive baited area in a short time. For carp they are indispensable alongside boilies.
How to pick the right pellet
- Size – micro pellets for the method feeder, larger pellets for the baited area
- Dissolve time – fast-dissolving for instant attraction, slow for a long session
- Water temperature – in cold water choose less oily pellets
- Method – feed with PVA, spod, catapult or method feeder
Combining pellets with boilies
The strongest baited area is a mix: pellets for the instant scent cloud, boilies as a nutritious main meal. The variety in size and dissolve time keeps carp searching your swim for longer.
